PRODUCT CASE STUDY
PeakX
A competency platform connecting role expectations, employee assessments and development planning.
- Role
- Product and technical development — competency and assessment workflows
- For
- HR teams and managers building structured employee development

The user problem
Employee development becomes difficult when role expectations, assessments and training plans live in separate spreadsheets. Managers need a consistent view of skills and the gaps worth addressing.
Product decisions
Competency frameworks provide a shared language for assessments. The product connects multi-perspective evaluation, role matching and development planning so that assessment results can inform the next action.
Engineering trade-offs
Next.js, Prisma and PostgreSQL support structured organizational and assessment data, with Redis available for caching. A multi-tenant design makes authorization and company boundaries central engineering concerns. Assessment calculations need understandable rules and repeatable checks.
What exists today
The public site, running application and active database/cache services were checked on 5 October 2026. Source inspection found competency and assessment routes, including AI-assisted competency endpoints. Authenticated HR workflows, tenant isolation and assessment accuracy were not tested during this inspection. Customer adoption and business outcomes are not reported.
Evidence & next steps
Implementation evidence is separate from measured user or business outcomes. Next: validate the complete user journey and its results.
